This strange adventure known as life has ups and downs in abundance. I strongly believe following passions that define you leads to a fulfilling life.  To this end, I have taken my own advice.  I write about nature, wildlife, conservation, heritage breeds, companion animals, outdoor recreation, Celtic stuff, historical fiction, farming, and sustainable everything.  My life, so far, is a mulligatawny stew of ideas, concepts, and experiences that actually do have a central theme, or two, or three.

Now for the boring bonafides.  I have degrees in Outdoor Recreation Administration, Zoology, Geography, and Natural Resource Management. I have worked as a national park researcher and tour guide, farmer, rancher, cartographer, zoo keeper and endangered species biologist, journalist, professor, and freelance writer.
